According to Computer Business Review the use of social networking sites (such as Facebook and Bebo) is costing UK businesses £6.5bn in lost productivity. Could some of this be coming from your business? Would you like to know your employees are using your IT systems appropriately? Would you like to protect your business with a small investment that will provide solid returns?
Well we have the answer. We are delighted to offer a service that helps local businesses to protect themselves from inappropriate use of their IT systems. It is a very straightforward installation and gives organisations the freedom for their staff to use their computers and the internet responsibly, whilst capturing any misuse or unacceptable behaviour.
The five simple steps are as follows:-
Firstly ensure all of your staff have signed your IT Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP). This should clearly explain what is and what is not allowed on your IT systems and how they can be used. If you do not have a policy you can download one here FREE.
This is a simple plug and play device smaller than a PC that requires one standard network point. There is no integration required with existing systems or server side software to install. This identifies your risks. It works by monitoring your network and checks for unacceptable words and phrases that are displayed on peoples screens.
Automatically distribute the agent software to the devices that connect to your network or install manually – the choice is yours. This silently monitors what is being done on individual machines. Now you will be capturing the evidence you need. This means all applications are covered, including internet chat rooms and email. It also covers all documents (like Word and PowerPoint), whether they are viewed, printed or typed. Even unsaved or deleted material is captured if it contains an unacceptable word or phrase.
From a browser on any machine your chosen administrator can see all security breaches and logs. These might be time spent by an individual on a specific web site, it might be inappropriate language used in email correspondence or extensive use of online chat rooms. You can identify who was logged onto the machine and the date and time of the breach.
If you see a breach of your AUP you have the data necessary to take action. This would of course need to be in line with the guidelines stated in your IT AUP.
